The Priest being arrested is Maksymilian Maria Kolbe. He was arrested 17 February 1941 and detained in Pawiak( prison in Warsaw).3 months later he was carried away to Auschwitz. He died 14 August 1941 in a hunger chamber. His death became famous because he went to this chamber voluntarily, in the place of one of his co-prisoners.

In 1982 he became Saint Maksymilian Maria Kolbe. This information comes from a very helpful Justyna Wacewicz from Poland.
